Face Genius Idol Takes Over the Entertainment Industry – 32

    Run Towards Your Dreams (4)

[Mission completed. The Constellation remarks that your kind act will be helpful someday. Presence increased by 2.]

‘Was this a foreshadowing from the constellation?’

Shin was puzzled as he looked at the screen pushed in front of him that morning. On the laptop screen, he saw a familiar scene being played out in a video.

It was footage of Shin saving Kang Jae, shot from below.

    ‘Who filmed this?’

Since it was an outdoor set, there were people who came to watch. The angle seemed focused on Shin, but it wasn’t clear.

‘This is the best quality video of the ones uploaded so far.’

The video started from the part where Kang Jae pushed another contestant and ended when Shin rescued him. The video made Shin look somewhat like a savior, which made him feel a bit embarrassed.

The atmosphere in the practice room was quite heavy. Unexpectedly, it was Minho who spoke first.

    “Is this true?”

Minho had shown the video. Shin nodded. There was nothing to deny. Then Seunghyun, who seemed to have come out of nowhere, asked excitedly,

“So you saved him, and DK just washed their hands of it?”

“Personally, I did get a thank you.”

It wasn’t Kang Jae but the leader of BLACK, Won, who called Shin directly. Despite his annoying personality, Won acted properly as a leader.

Won thanked Shin very politely, and Shin gladly accepted the gratitude.

Won even offered to repay him, but Shin declined, thinking it wasn’t necessary. Kang Jae’s part was edited out anyway, so there was no need to stir up more talk.

‘In times like this, the broadcasting company holds all the power.’

DK Entertainment didn’t protest even though they had a reason to. They didn’t want to get on the bad side of the broadcasting company. After all, no controversial scenes were aired.

Therefore, Shin also asked President Jo Junseong not to mention it.

But the other members seemed to think this was a serious issue. Their stern expressions made Shin uncomfortable.

“Why didn’t you tell us sooner?”

“I just didn’t feel like saying anything. I know you and BLACK don’t get along.”

Shin was puzzled as to why Seunghyun’s expression remained tense. Minho explained.

“Recently, the online sentiment towards you hasn’t been great.”

    “Ah…”

No wonder Yonng had been acting strange, asking if he was okay a lot lately. It must have been because there were many negative comments about him online.

‘So that’s why they told me to stay off the internet.’

Shin finally understood what had puzzled him. He rarely went online and only checked the fan cafe, where no negative comments were posted. So he had been unaware of the situation.

“This video has completely reversed the public opinion.”

Minho scrolled down and showed the comments.

ㄴ This guy’s character is seriously amazing.

ㄴ I approve of promoting his good character.

    ㄴ Good-looking people are kind-hearted too.

ㄴ I thought he was stuffy from watching Talk Like, but if this is how he is, then I acknowledge it.

Seeing the mentions of Talk Like, Shin realized it was because of the Confucian quotes he had mentioned. He had thought of it because he had once played a supporting role in a historical drama, but he never imagined he would be called a Confucian gentleman for it.

Below that were other posts, which Minho had mentioned.

    – Misdeeds of BLACK fans

    ㄴ Did BLACK fans apologize?

ㄴ Saving a drowning person only for their fans to demand more.

ㄴ They kept ruining SPACE posts and now repay kindness with hostility.

    ㄴ It’s just some fans, don’t generalize.

    ㄴ Some + some = ???ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

The content made Shin frown. There were many comments skirting the line of being malicious. It seemed like SPACE fans had gone through a lot because of this, which made Shin feel worse. The fan cafe never showed any signs of this, which made it even sadder.

“How about posting on our fan cafe?”

    “Good idea.”

    “Great!”

First, they took a neat group photo after tidying up. It was an idol-like photo that looked candid but wasn’t too raw.

Dongju, who was good at writing cheesy comments, wrote the post, and Minho, who was familiar with what fans liked, reviewed it. Combining Minho’s feedback, they came up with a good post.

‘Now that I think about it, Minho is really strong on the internet.’

During SPACE’s heyday, Minho played a lot of games. He was known in the gaming community, but Shin wasn’t interested in games, so he didn’t pay much attention.

He remembered being curious about how much Minho’s gaming ID would sell for when he heard that gaming IDs could be bought and sold.

‘I’ve been too indifferent to Minho.’

As Shin looked at Minho, Minho’s eyes sparkled as if he sensed Shin’s gaze. He seemed to be asking for praise, so Shin gave him a thumbs-up, making Minho smile.

    “I posted it!”

At Dongju’s words, everyone looked at the screen. In no time, comments started pouring in. Even though it was work hours, comments appeared quickly.

“This is why being an idol is worth it.”

Shin laughed at Minho’s barely audible remark. He had always wondered why Minho, with his timid personality, chose to be an idol. Now, he understood.

    The conclusion was clear.

    ‘A timid attention seeker.’

Despite his shy personality, Minho loved receiving attention but disliked being in the spotlight. The more Shin thought about it, the more interesting Minho’s personality seemed.

“What festival is it this time?”

Spring festivals had already started, even though it was still cold. Despite appearing on TV programs, they needed to consistently earn money through festivals. On the bright side, their pay had increased slightly.

    “The Sancheoneo (Mountain Trout) Festival!”

Just hearing the name of the festival made them feel the need to dress warmly. But before that, they had one more program to attend.

    A food tour VJ program.

This time, Shin and Jinwoo were the ones to go. Originally, Minho and Dongju were supposed to go, but they declined, saying they weren’t ready yet.

‘Come to think of it, Jinwoo is perfect for food shows.’

In the future, people often said that Jinwoo’s sincerity showed whenever he ate. He was praised for eating cleanly and heartily.

Thinking back, it was probably because he couldn’t eat what he wanted regularly due to his daily salad diet.

“I’m confident in my eating skills.”

    “Yeah, I know.”

There’s a saying, “If it tastes good, it has zero calories.” He decided to put it into practice.

    * * *                                               * * *                                * * *

    Slurp.

Even just eating noodles, the sound was delicious. Just watching made one’s mouth water. Jinwoo then lifted the bowl and drank the soup, his throat moving enticingly.

Showing the empty bowl to the camera, Jinwoo said with a bright face,

    “The soup is amazing.”

Shin, who was watching Jinwoo’s noodle mukbang, almost clapped. It was indeed a sight that made one hungry just by looking.

‘This is why he ended up doing ramen commercials.’

It was an advertisement Jinwoo did while working solo. Shin had heard about it but avoided watching it due to his resentment at the time. He only later saw articles about how impressive the sales were.

‘Seeing it up close, it’s even more impressive.’

Initially, Shin considered whether he should also try to eat deliciously like Jinwoo. However, no matter how much he tried, he wasn’t confident he could do it as well as Jinwoo, so he changed his approach.

“I want to eat like you. Challenge accepted!”

    Slurp.

Although he tried to imitate, it was clumsy. But that awkwardness turned into cuteness, especially with his good looks. Compared to Shin, Jinwoo’s eating looked even more delicious.

    “Where are we eating next?”

Shin smiled a fatherly smile at Jinwoo’s excited face. He was happy to eat delicious food because of the show.

    “Ma’am! It’s really delicious!”

Jinwoo’s sincere voice and expression, unlike Shin’s deliberate words, gained favor from people. Shin learned something new from Jinwoo today.

The shooting only ended after they finished eating sausages.

    “Cut! Good job, everyone!”

“Thank you for your hard work.”

As Shin bowed and greeted everyone, Jinwoo followed behind him. The sight of them looked like a mother bird and her chick, which made everyone smile warmly.

“Maru, you seem to have a knack for this.”

    “Thank you for the compliment.”

“How about coming again next time?”

President Jo Junseong’s eyes sparkled. Today’s atmosphere was so good that he thought it might be possible. Although they might get cut if they failed once, it was still a great opportunity.

“If the viewer response is good, we’ll invite you again.”

    “Thank you!”

The three of them bowed their heads quickly, and the site was cleaned up in no time.

“I feel like I could do this show every day.”

Jinwoo’s mood was very good, probably because he had eaten so much delicious food. Although he would have to exercise a lot later, he was happy while eating.

As they passed through the market, Shin quickly smiled when someone grabbed his hand.

    “Take this with you!”

It was from the restaurant where they had filmed. Pleased with how they ate, the owner gave them extra food. Shin accepted it without hesitation. Instead, he bought more food to take home.

‘It’s times like this when the allowance from my brother helps.’

“We really enjoyed the food today. We’ll share this with our friends too.”

Initially, the owner tried to give it for free, but Shin insisted on paying, asking for more service instead. After taking a commemorative photo, the three of them left the market.

“Let’s go back to the practice room. We should share this food.”

With their hands full of black bags, President Jo Junseong shook his head but hurriedly started the car to get back and eat.

“By the way, Jinwoo, you really eat well.”

“I told you I’m good at eating.”

It was a pity that food shows became a trend later. If it had been popular now, they could have shot Jinwoo’s own content.

    ‘Wait, his own content?’

“President, you said we’re going to the Sancheoneo Festival, right?”

    “Yes.”

Shin had already roughly understood the festival program. SPACE would perform at the opening ceremony. He had an interesting idea.

“President, do we have a camcorder at the company?”

    “Yes, we do.”

“Can we use it for the festival?”

    “Of course.”

Jinwoo looked at Shin with interest. He had a feeling that Shin was planning something fun again.

At that moment, Shin’s phone vibrated.
